I was recently called an "inconsiderate asshole" by someone whose opinion I respect. Actually, she said "I've always thought that you were an inconsiderate asshole, but this just confirms it."
Verbal abuse by people that you do not or cannot take seriously is one thing, easily deflected and dismissed, but when it comes from somebody who you think has their shit together it can be a bit disconcerting. I planned on pimp slapping her, but then I would have really been an inconsiderate asshole. Then I went home, shamed, and cried myself to sleep.
